The Future Of Rock Music Fest
Sun. April 29
Doors at 1; show at 2 p.m.
Join us for an all-ages welcome, showcase of local bands Neil Buettner & Matt Harrington (acoustic rock), Hari Kari (‘80s tribute band), Kid Charlemagne (Steely Dan tribute band), featuring Johnny and Kelly, Offshore and The High Voltage Band performing popular classic rock covers and originals at the first annual Future of Rock Music Festival. Neil & Matt, Johnny & Kelley and The High Voltage Band created a local following from their weekly shows at P. Wexfords Pub, and other popular Modesto venues. The High Voltage Band, referred to on Twitter and Facebook and in the press as “the future of rock,” inspired the so-named show at The State. The goal of this event is to foster the development of music in our local community and showcase the talents of area musicians. All of the bands involved in this event have led to the success of up-and-coming rockers High Voltage by supporting and coaching them, and most are Modesto Area Music Award (MAMA) winners. Offshore, is an up-and-coming punk rock band that is currently competing for a spot in the infamous “VANS Warped Tour.” They will perform original compositions as well as covers.
This show will give the local music fans a chance to see their favorite performers on an over-the-top, state-of-the-art sound and light platform. Come and listen to great music, and enjoy local food: Fuzio Universal Bistro is serving Pasta Al Fuzio, salad, fresh focaccia bread, and a freshly baked cookie for only $12!
