We finish our January-March semester with two days at the Historic State Theatre. Definitely one of our favorite places to play. Then we take one week off and start our last semester before summer culminating with our final concert at the Gallo Center. Our two days at the State Theatre both proceed and follow the second annual battle of the bands that will happen on the evening of the 18th. Our very own Beheading of the Queen will be competing in the battle of the bands, along with VMI alumni in Planets Collide, Time of the Essence, and Floods of Fire. Whoever wins, our favorite band contest will be the honorary opening band for the battle of the bands. Tickets for the battle of the bands are $20 but the valley music Institute concerts on the 18th and 19th are totally free, sponsored by long term youth music supporting Roberts auto sales. Roberts auto sales does so much for VMI, and for the health of the youth music community. We are eternally grateful to them.
